Breaking News: Palestinian Woman Hospitalized After Detention
Leqaa Kordia, a 33-year-old Palestinian woman, has been hospitalized after a medical episode while in detention. Kordia has been held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Texas since March 2025.
Reports indicate that she suffered a seizure after falling and hitting her head in the bathroom of the Prairieland Detention Center. Her family and legal team have not been able to contact her since her hospitalization.
Kordia was detained following a protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza. The U.S. government claims her arrest is due to overstaying her student visa, while her lawyers argue she is being targeted for her political activism.
