Breaking: Pro-Palestine Demonstrators Face Arrest Risk at Sydney March Against Israeli President Herzog’s Visit

Breaking News: Pro-Palestine March in Sydney Faces Arrest Risks

Demonstrators in Sydney are planning a pro-Palestine march from Town Hall to New South Wales Parliament on Monday. Authorities have warned that participants may face arrest.

The march coincides with the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who is in Australia to commemorate victims of a recent attack. Thousands gathered in Sydney’s business district earlier on Monday to protest Herzog’s visit, with similar demonstrations expected in other cities.

The Palestine Action Group organized the march, but a legal challenge against restrictions on the protest was denied in court. The area designated for the march is classified as a special protected zone during Herzog’s visit.

New South Wales Assistant Police Commissioner Peter McKenna stated that police aim to avoid using force and have been in contact with protest organizers.

Herzog began his visit at Bondi Beach, laying a wreath for the attack’s victims. He also met with survivors and families, expressing solidarity and friendship.

The president’s visit is controversial, with some activists calling for accountability regarding Israel’s actions in Gaza.
