Drone Strike on Mosque in Sudan Kills Two Children, Injures 13; Rapid Support Forces Responsible

Breaking News: Drone Attack in Sudan Mosque

A drone attack on a mosque in central Sudan has resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to 13 others. The incident occurred at dawn on Wednesday, according to the Sudan Doctors Network.

The group attributed the attack to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group involved in an ongoing civil war with the Sudanese Armed Forces. The children were studying the Quran at the Sheikh Ahmed al-Badawi Mosque in North Kordofan State when the drone struck.

The Sudan Doctors Network condemned the attack as a violation of international humanitarian law. They highlighted that targeting children in places of worship is a serious crime.

The RSF has previously targeted other religious sites, including a church in Khartoum. The doctors’ network called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to protect civilians and ensure the delivery of aid.

The United Nations reported a recent increase in drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in South Kordofan, North Kordofan, and West Kordofan states. They noted over 90 civilian deaths and 142 injuries from such strikes since late January.
