Breaking News: Trump Announces First Meeting of ‘Board of Peace’

US President Donald Trump has announced that the first meeting of his newly created “Board of Peace” will take place on Thursday in Washington, DC.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that board members have pledged over $5 billion to rebuild Gaza, which has been heavily impacted by ongoing conflicts. He mentioned that members will also contribute thousands of personnel to an International Stabilization Force to ensure security in the region.

The US has requested countries to contribute $1 billion to join the Board of Peace. Reports suggest that the United Arab Emirates has already made this commitment, with Kuwait potentially following suit. However, the identities of three other countries that may join have not yet been disclosed.

The meeting’s agenda includes discussions on broader conflict resolution efforts, which aim to move beyond the traditional roles of the United Nations.

Trump emphasized the need for Hamas to commit to demilitarization. In response, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem urged the board to pressure Israel to adhere to the ceasefire agreement.

The meeting is expected to draw attention amidst ongoing tensions in the region.
