Violent Protests Erupt in Belfast After Knife Attack; Homes and Vehicles Set Ablaze

Breaking News: Protests Erupt in Belfast

Violent protests broke out in Belfast on Tuesday evening. Houses, cars, and bins were set on fire following a knife attack on Monday.

A 30-year-old man from Sudan, Hadi Alodid, has been charged with attempted murder. This follows the serious injury of a man in his 40s, identified as Stephen Ogilvy. Ogilvy has lost his left eye and suffers damage to his right eye.

The protests have left several families homeless. One man, who lived in his home for 13 years, expressed deep sorrow as he watched it burn.

In response to the unrest, police and local officials are urging calm. Additional police officers have been deployed throughout the city. Public transport services are also closing early to prepare for potential further disturbances.
