Breaking News: Aircraft Crash in France Results in Eleven Fatalities

A civilian aircraft carrying skydivers has crashed in Tomblaine, eastern France, resulting in the deaths of eleven people. The victims include the pilot and ten passengers, comprising five students and five instructors from a parachutist school.

The plane took off from Nancy-Essey airfield before the crash occurred. Local police are advising the public to avoid the area around the airport in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department.

French transport minister Philippe Tabarot and interior minister Laurent Nunez are en route to the crash site. No bystanders were injured in the incident, according to Yves Seguy, the prefect of Meurthe-et-Moselle.

The crash happened near a shopping center and a housing estate. Seguy noted that the plane fell almost vertically, and it was fortunate that there were no additional victims.

Half of the deceased skydivers were nurses, as confirmed by Thierry Pechey, president of the local Order of Independent Nurses. Relatives of the victims were reportedly present at the airfield at the time of the crash.
