About the Role:
Join us at Unilever as a Warehouse Operator at our Rexdale facility, where we produce Hellmann’s Mayonnaise. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the receipt, shipment, and storage of materials, ensuring a smooth and efficient warehouse operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize basic computer skills to maintain necessary files and documentation related to the shipment and receipt of materials, completing applicable paperwork.
- Operate hand trucks, counterbalance forklifts, and walkie stackers to move raw materials and finished goods to and from warehousing areas and the production floor.
- Store raw materials and finished products in designated warehouse areas, adhering to FIFO inventory rotation and allergen storage regulations.
- Supply materials to production lines as needed.
- Operate palletizers, depalletizers, wrappers, and trunk lines.
- Follow Unilever’s safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Perform shipping and receiving activities, including:
- Shipping: Load trailers, generate paperwork for outbound loads, check goods against shipping documents, and verify product identification and quality.
- Receiving: Unload goods, check against bills of lading and packing slips, verify rejects and damaged goods, and store items appropriately.
- Read and comprehend work instructions and conduct daily safety inspections of forklifts and other equipment.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and engage in regular standing and walking.
- Actively participate in improvement activities such as One-Point-Lessons and 5S initiatives.
- Work in areas with varying temperatures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in reading and comprehending written specifications in English
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
- Valid “D” license required
- Minimum of 6 months of warehouse experience, including inbound and outbound dispatching, inventory management, and data input for computerized inventory systems
- Open to all shift assignments
