Breaking News: Poland Prepares for Potential Russian Threat
Poland’s Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, announced that the country is preparing for various scenarios amid concerns of a potential threat from Russia. Tusk described the coming months as “critical” and highlighted reports of an armed “provocation” planned by Moscow, citing US intelligence.
Polish news outlet Onet reported that the US has issued warnings about a possible attack on Poland. Under these plans, Polish infrastructure may be targeted by missiles or drones, or Russian soldiers could enter the country.
Tusk emphasized the need for preparation but urged calm, stating, “We are aware of the threats, also thanks to information from our allies.” He is set to attend a NATO summit in Turkey next week, where leaders will discuss defense spending and continued support for Ukraine.
Concerns over Russian military actions are shared by Baltic states, with reports suggesting military provocations could occur in the region as well. NATO’s Article 5 states that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all, prompting collective defense measures.
The White House and US State Department have not yet commented on the situation.
