Breaking News: Boxer Hannah Rapp Dies in Cycling Accident

American boxer Hannah Rapp, 26, died on Saturday after being struck by a car while cycling in Texas. The incident occurred when a car passed her, then suddenly reversed into her, according to the Brazos County sheriff’s office.

The driver has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Rapp recently challenged for the WBC women’s featherweight championship in June, losing to Tiara Brown. This left her with a professional record of 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman stated that Rapp was an exceptional boxer and a valuable member of the boxing community. Tiara Brown described Rapp as the “best dance partner” she had faced and noted Rapp’s kindness in asking for her autograph before their fight.

Originally from Indiana, Rapp transitioned from athletics to boxing and turned professional in 2024. She also worked as a fire and life safety inspector.

Her promoter, Most Valuable Promotions, expressed gratitude for having shared her journey and pledged to honor her memory in the future.
