Breaking News: US Strikes Iran for 11th Night
Late on Tuesday, the United States conducted airstrikes on Iran for the 11th consecutive night. The strikes targeted Iranian military operations and were aimed at reducing threats to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command (Centcom) reported that air defenses were activated in Tehran, with explosions noted in Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak, and Bushehr, where Iran’s only nuclear power plant is located.
Iran responded by warning of reprisals, particularly after US President Donald Trump indicated potential strikes on a nuclear site near Natanz. Centcom accused Iran of attacking over 30 commercial vessels in recent months, stating that these actions endangered sailors and disrupted navigation.
In related developments, Kuwait reported engaging with Iranian drone attacks, while Bahrain and Jordan intercepted similar strikes. Trump also mentioned possible military action against the Houthi rebels in Yemen if they proceed with a blockade of Saudi ports.
These events follow a ceasefire agreement made in April, which has since broken down, escalating tensions in the region. The ongoing conflict has already cost the US approximately $37.5 billion.
