Breaking: I Am Maximus to Carry Top Weight in 2024 Grand National at Aintree on April 11

Breaking News: 2024 Grand National Preview

The 2024 Grand National will take place at Aintree on April 11. The race will feature I Am Maximus, the previous year’s winner, who heads the weights at 11st 12lb. Trained by Willie Mullins and owned by JP McManus, I Am Maximus finished second in last year’s race.

Iroko, who placed fourth last year, is the current favorite with a weight of 11st 1lb. Nick Rockett, last year’s winner, has a weight of 11st 11lb but has faced setbacks that prevented him from racing recently.

Other notable entries include Grangeclare West (11st 10lb), Impaire Et Passe (11st 5lb), and last season’s King George winner Banbridge (11st 11lb).

The British Horseracing Authority’s Martin Greenwood stated that last year’s top three horses were all rated 160-plus, indicating the high competition level.

Approximate odds for the favorites are as follows: Iroko at 11-2, I Am Maximus at 12-1, and Haiti Couleurs at 14-1.
