Breaking News: Weather Change in the UK
The weather in the United Kingdom is changing after days of rain and cloudy skies. Arctic air is bringing cold and frosty conditions as the weekend begins. Snow and ice are expected, particularly in northern regions.
Most areas will experience sunshine on Saturday, but this will be short-lived. Rain, along with more snow and ice, is forecasted to spread overnight into Sunday. The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for ice and snow across Scotland and northern England. These warnings are in effect from 21:00 GMT on Saturday until 10:00 on Sunday.
Snow is expected to reach low levels, with a few centimeters possible. Higher ground may see up to 15 centimeters of snow. Ice conditions could lead to travel disruptions on Sunday morning.
In response to the cold weather, the UK’s Health Security Agency has issued yellow health alerts for northern England and the Midlands. These alerts will remain in place until 08:00 on Monday. The agency warns of potential impacts on health services and increased risks for vulnerable individuals.
