Job Posting: Fiscal Reviewer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Fiscal Reviewer to oversee accounting, tax, and financial operations in compliance with both international and national regulations, as well as the policies of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). This role is essential for supporting the humanitarian efforts of the organization in Colombia.
Key Responsibilities:
The Fiscal Reviewer will operate under the supervision of the Country Director and will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines.
- Prepare reports on the status of the organization, specific programs, or projects as required by authorities, NRC, or donors.
- Ensure proper documentation is completed and maintained.
- Promote and share ideas for improving contracted services and support areas.
- Advocate for the rights of displaced and repatriated individuals in line with NRC’s promotion strategy.
- Prepare, sign, and submit declarations to relevant authorities and NRC Oslo.
- Verify that accounting books, minutes, and correspondence are maintained according to legal requirements.
- Issue reports, opinions, and findings regarding evidence, irregularities, and other pertinent aspects.
- Provide accountability to authorities and furnish required information when necessary.
- Inspect NRC assets at the offices and provide recommendations for their maintenance and care.
- Conduct training for NRC staff on accounting topics and applicable regulatory updates.
- Visit NRC field offices as needed.
Additionally, in accordance with Article 207 of the Commercial Code, the Fiscal Reviewer will:
- Ensure that operations comply with statutory provisions and decisions made by general assemblies and boards.
- Report any irregularities in the organization’s operations to the relevant bodies.
- Collaborate with governmental entities overseeing company inspections and provide requested reports.
- Ensure regular accounting practices and proper record-keeping of meetings and correspondence.
- Regularly inspect organizational assets and recommend conservation measures.
- Provide necessary instructions and inspections to maintain control over organizational assets.
- Authorize balance sheets with appropriate reports.
- Call extraordinary meetings when necessary.
- Fulfill other duties as mandated by law or the organization’s statutes.
Qualifications:
We invite applications from individuals or entities with the following qualifications:
- A specialist in fiscal review with over 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in special tax regime entities (ESAL) is essential, and experience with international NGOs is highly valued.
