Breaking News: Israeli Air Strikes Target Southern Lebanon
Israeli air strikes have hit areas in southern Lebanon, specifically Blat and Wadi Barghouti, according to reports from Al Jazeera. The Israeli military claims these strikes target Hezbollah infrastructure, despite a ceasefire established in November 2024.
Local sources report that civilian areas and infrastructure have been affected during these attacks. No casualties have been confirmed so far, as many strikes have focused on open areas in forests and hills. Israeli aircraft continue to patrol the skies over southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah’s media outlets confirmed that Israeli drones dropped explosives in the town of Markaba. Recent strikes in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley resulted in one death and 29 injuries, including that of a 16-year-old Syrian boy.
The ongoing violence raises concerns about the effectiveness of the ceasefire agreement. Since its implementation, over 300 individuals have lost their lives, including 127 civilians, as reported by the United Nations. The situation remains tense as the Israeli military continues its operations in the region.
