Breaking: Two Philippine Senators Named as Co-Perpetrators in Duterte’s ICC Crimes Against Humanity Case

Breaking News: Senators Named in Duterte’s ICC Trial

Two Philippine senators, Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Christopher “Bong” Go, have been identified as co-perpetrators in former president Rodrigo Duterte’s trial for crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court (ICC). This information comes from documents released by prosecutors.

The document, dated February 13, includes eight current and former officials. Duterte was arrested in Manila in March 2025 and is currently held in the Netherlands. He faces three counts of crimes against humanity related to his “war on drugs,” which allegedly involved at least 76 murders.

Dela Rosa, a former national police chief, has been in hiding for months. Go, who was re-elected in May, served as Duterte’s aide during his time as mayor and president. A representative for Dela Rosa stated they had not yet reviewed the document, while Go has not commented.

The ICC has also approved the addition of 500 more complainants against Duterte. A hearing for the confirmation of charges is scheduled for February 23.
