Published: 3 May 2026

Ukrainian forces have conducted a drone attack on the Russian port of Primorsk, according to local officials. The attack did not cause an oil spill but ignited a fire that was quickly extinguished. More than 60 drones were intercepted over the Leningrad region during the night.

Primorsk is a major oil-exporting port with a capacity of one million barrels per day. It has faced multiple attacks in recent months as Ukraine targets Russian energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that his forces also struck two tankers near the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, used for oil transport. He emphasized the development of Ukraine’s long-range capabilities.

In related incidents, Russian drone strikes in Ukraine resulted in at least three fatalities. Two people died in the Odesa region, and one in Kherson. Local officials reported damage to residential buildings and port infrastructure.

Russian officials also reported drone attacks in their regions, with fatalities and injuries confirmed in various areas, including Moscow and Smolensk. The conflict continues to escalate as both sides launch drone strikes daily.
