About One Acre Fund
Established in 2006, One Acre Fund empowers 5.5 million smallholder farmers to enhance their agricultural productivity. Operating in nine countries, which collectively host two-thirds of Africa’s farmers, we provide essential resources such as high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a variety of agricultural services. Our model typically enables farmers to increase their income and assets on supported land by over 35%, while also enhancing their resilience. This success is driven by our dedicated team of over 9,000 full-time staff from diverse backgrounds and professions.
In Kenya, our program, known locally as Tupande, has been operational since 2006. With nearly 500 staff members at our Kakamega headquarters, we support 1,747 field staff and serve more than 1 million farmers. Additionally, around 50 staff in Nairobi handle global functions, including procurement, recruitment, government relations, and communications.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic professional with a minimum of 2 years of experience to lead our retail operations. In this role, you will leverage your sales expertise to manage teams, deliver outstanding service, and drive impactful results. Proficiency in Google Suite, along with fluency in English and Kiswahili, is essential, as is a tertiary education.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales, repayment, and impact targets within your designated zone.
- Manage the performance of multiple channels throughout the business cycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams as necessary, and serve as the primary contact for zonal performance.
- Provide technical support and training to Duka Assistants and Field Agents, facilitating weekly meetings.
- Define and manage work plans for Duka Assistants and Field Agents.
- Oversee inventory ordering, data entry, and merchandising processes.
- Maintain control over the operational environment at the Duka.
- Build and develop your teams through effective hiring, training, and performance management.
- Support the planning and implementation of promotional programs within your zone.
- Assist customers in understanding their needs, highlight key differentiators, and guide them through typical purchasing journeys, demonstrating a passion for our program.
- Empower your team to create sales opportunities for customers.

Qualifications
For this role, candidates should possess:
- A Diploma or Degree.
- Over 2 years of experience in a sales, partner, or channel management role.
- Proven ability to work consistently towards strategic goals.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
