Job Opportunity: Fundraising Consultant at NetHope
NetHope is looking for a seasoned fundraising consultant to assist in identifying, cultivating, and securing funding from various sources, particularly those aligned with our NetHope Connected and AI initiatives. This role will involve close collaboration with the Chief Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer to establish and enhance a diverse funding pipeline across different types of funders and revenue models.
Engagement Duration: Estimated at 400 hours from June to October 2026.
Scope of Work
This engagement will be divided into three collaborative phases:
Phase 1: Inception and Assessment (Early June 2026)
- Collaborate with the Chief Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer to align on priorities, communication styles, and workflows.
- Review the existing donor portfolio and funding pipeline.
- Create a compelling value proposition for outreach to new funders.
- Conduct a landscape analysis to identify a priority list of 15-20 target funders.
- Develop a comprehensive work plan, fundraising calendar, and reporting schedule.
Phase 2: Pipeline Development and Funder Cultivation (June – October 2026)
- Research and profile key prospects across various funder categories.
- Present an initial funding pipeline by the end of June, with updates by mid-July.
- Formulate tailored engagement strategies for each identified funder.
- Initiate proactive outreach and foster new relationships.
- Prepare meeting briefings, talking points, concept notes, letters of inquiry, proposals, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain and regularly update a centralized prospect tracker throughout the engagement.
- Provide consistent progress updates at mutually agreed intervals.
Phase 3: Knowledge Management and Handover (October 2026)
- Ensure all data and communications are thoroughly documented in the CRM.
- Transition relationships to appropriate NetHope team members.
- Compile a final report summarizing activities, outcomes, pipeline status, and strategic recommendations.
- Deliver all ongoing proposals in a state ready for continuation.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of successful experience in securing significant funding from institutional sources, including foundations, government entities, high-net-worth individuals, corporate partners, and family foundations.
- Proven track record with international NGOs, humanitarian organizations, nonprofit networks, or technology-for-good initiatives.
- Exceptional proposal writing skills, with the ability to distill complex information into engaging funding narratives.
- Established relationships within the philanthropic and institutional donor community relevant to NetHope’s focus areas.
- Experience managing a complete funding pipeline, from prospect research to stewardship.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and grant tracking tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of representing NetHope effectively to senior donor stakeholders.
- Availability during Eastern Time Zone hours and flexibility to accommodate various time zones.
- Experience with fee-for-service, impact investing, or venture philanthropy models is a plus.
