Breaking News: Explosion at Fireworks Factory in Naxxar, Malta
An explosion occurred at a fireworks factory in Naxxar, Malta, on Monday, according to local authorities.
Two men, who were in nearby fields, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. All licensed workers connected to the factory have been accounted for and were not on site at the time of the incident, confirmed the Malta Police Force.
Large plumes of smoke were visible in the sky following the explosion.
An inquiry is currently underway. Prime Minister Robert Abela expressed his thoughts for those affected by the incident.
