A 16-year-old boy is on trial for the death of nine-year-old Aria. His lawyer, Andrew Langdon KC, told the jury that the boy made a poor decision but did not intend to kill or harm Aria.
After Aria was injured, the boy left the house and went to Worle Railway Station. He stated he left because he was scared and panicked. The jury learned that he had been expelled from school for disruptive behavior just hours before Aria’s death. Additionally, his mother had taken away his phone as punishment, which he claimed prevented him from calling emergency services.
Aria was found unresponsive on the floor of her home shortly after 6:00 PM GMT by Ollie Sheppard, who was staying at the house. Sheppard described the scene as silent and eerie. Initially, he thought Aria was playing, but he soon noticed her shirt was covered in blood.
Emergency services arrived but stopped resuscitation efforts at 6:58 PM. The trial continues.
