Metropolitan Police Investigate Rape Allegations Linked to Married at First Sight UK; Man Arrested

Breaking News Report

The Metropolitan Police have urged anyone who believes they were victims of sexual assault after appearing on “Married at First Sight UK” to come forward. This follows a recent episode of Panorama that raised concerns.

On June 18, police arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of rape. This arrest is part of an ongoing investigation led by the Metropolitan Police. The man has been released on bail while inquiries continue.

“Married at First Sight UK,” also known as MAFS, is a popular reality show where single individuals marry strangers after meeting them at mock weddings. The show has aired for ten seasons and attracts over three million viewers.

In May, Channel 4 removed all episodes of MAFS from its streaming service just before the Panorama investigation aired. A decision on whether to broadcast the latest season, which has already been filmed, has not yet been made.

Channel 4 plans to complete its review of MAFS UK by the end of summer but will only release a summary of findings, not the full report. The production company, CPL, has stated that its welfare system for participants is industry-leading.
