Breaking News Report
On September 10, during an event in a tent as part of his American Comeback tour, Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking about gun violence. He collapsed after a gunshot was heard.
Chris Bagley, a law enforcement officer stationed nearby, testified in court that the shot came from a rifle. He described the scene as chaotic, with people shouting and running. Bagley confirmed that a suspect had been taken into custody but later found evidence suggesting the wrong person may have been arrested.
Bagley discovered a screwdriver and marks in the gravel on a roof, indicating a possible sniper position. He viewed security footage showing an individual escaping the area after the shooting.
Defense attorney Kathryn Nestor raised objections during Bagley’s testimony, questioning the planning and security measures in place for the event.
Another witness, David Hull, testified that he saw the suspect, Robinson, on campus multiple times on the day of the shooting. Prosecutors presented surveillance footage showing Robinson parking and leaving the area.
The hearing will continue this week to evaluate evidence and witnesses before a potential trial.
