Breaking News: Escaped Prisoner Arrested
Police have arrested Marwan Jumaa, a 20-year-old prisoner who escaped during a transfer from a secure hospital facility to North Manchester Hospital on Tuesday evening. The arrest occurred in the early hours of Friday, following a manhunt led by Greater Manchester Police.
An officer from Lancashire Constabulary recognized Jumaa and acted quickly to take him into custody. He will now be returned to a secure hospital facility.
Jumaa was serving an indefinite sentence for attacking two women. Authorities had warned the public not to approach him and encouraged them to report any sightings.
Detective Superintendent Nicola McCulloch praised the swift actions of the officers involved and thanked the public for their assistance. She noted that the investigation involved significant resources from Greater Manchester Police.
