Breaking: Heatwave Conditions Likely Across UK as Temperatures Expected to Exceed 25-28°C for Three Consecutive Days

Breaking News: Heatwave Criteria Set by Met Office

The Met Office has defined heatwave criteria based on regional climates across the UK.

In Scotland, Northern Ireland, much of Wales, and northern England, a heatwave is declared when temperatures reach 25°C. For many other areas in England and south-east Wales, the threshold is set at 26°C or 27°C. In London, the home counties, and Cambridgeshire, the temperature must hit 28°C.

These temperatures must be maintained or exceeded for at least three consecutive days to officially classify as a heatwave.

Forecasts suggest that many areas may be confirmed in a heatwave once temperatures are recorded this Sunday. Some regions are expected to experience a prolonged heatwave.

Stay tuned for updates on temperature readings and further developments.
