Breaking News: Palestinian Aid Worker Killed in Israeli Air Strike
Gaza City, Gaza Strip – Mohammed al-Wahidi, a 65-year-old Palestinian aid worker, was killed in an Israeli air strike on Tuesday. The missile struck the taxi he was traveling in through the Sabra neighborhood, also claiming the lives of three others, including two young brothers aged eight and ten.
Al-Wahidi was a senior official with the Egyptian Relief Committee, where he coordinated emergency food assistance and established camps for displaced families during the ongoing conflict. He was known for his hands-on approach, often working directly in the field rather than from an office.
Following his death, many people shared condolences on social media, posting photographs and videos of his humanitarian work. Al-Wahidi had become a familiar face in shelters, engaging directly with displaced families.
The Israeli military stated that the air strike targeted a Hamas operative but acknowledged claims of civilian casualties. In recent weeks, al-Wahidi gained further recognition for organizing public screenings of World Cup matches in various locations across Gaza.
