Breaking News: Israeli Strikes Kill 10 in Southern Lebanon

At least 10 people, including high-ranking soldiers, were killed in Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon. This occurred just days after a conditional truce was agreed upon during U.S.-mediated talks.

The Lebanese army reported that two officers, a brigadier general and a captain, along with a soldier, died when an Israeli strike hit a military vehicle on the Khardali-Nabatieh road. The Israeli army stated the attack occurred in an “active combat zone” and is under investigation.

In response, the Lebanese army condemned the strikes as deliberate aggression aimed at undermining peace efforts. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun labeled the attack a violation of sovereignty, while Prime Minister Nawaf Salam described it as a “heinous crime.”

Additionally, an Israeli airstrike in the village of Saksakiyah killed six people and injured four others. One person was killed in a drone strike targeting a vehicle in Deir al-Zahrani.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in over 3,500 deaths in Lebanon since March 2, according to health officials. The situation remains tense as both sides exchange accusations of violating ceasefires.
