Breaking News: Wildfire in Cairngorms National Park
Firefighters are battling a significant wildfire in Cairngorms National Park, Scotland. The fire has been active for four days.
Hundreds of firefighters, along with two helicopters and specialized equipment, are on the scene. The blaze has affected six square kilometers of land, prompting evacuations of nearby homes and businesses, including campsites and a ski resort in Glenmore Forest Park.
To aid firefighting efforts, a high-volume pump is drawing water from Loch Morlich. On Sunday, firefighters managed to surround the blaze, allowing police to escort residents and campers back to their properties and campsites to retrieve personal belongings.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as efforts to control the fire are ongoing.
