Breaking News: Russian Attacks in Ukraine
At least 15 people have been killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine. This includes 10 fatalities from ballistic missile strikes on a drone technology exhibition near Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that around 100 people were injured in the daytime attack, which involved key members of the defense sector.
In the eastern city of Sloviansk, five additional casualties were reported due to Russian glide bomb strikes. Zelensky also warned of potential further missile attacks from Russia within the next 48 hours.
In response, Ukraine conducted an overnight strike in the Russian city of Kirov, resulting in six deaths and 26 injuries. The attack targeted warehouses of Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer.
Initial concerns arose for the safety of Defense Ministry adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov and technology developer Lyuba Shypovych, both of whom confirmed they were unharmed.
Ukrainian air force spokesman Yuri Ihnat stated that three ballistic missiles were involved in the attack, with only one intercepted. Russia confirmed the strike, claiming it targeted a site related to drone operations.
The incident is under investigation, and Ukrainian authorities are examining safety measures surrounding the exhibition.
