Three people were injured in an attack in Monaco. The victims include a 13-year-old child and two adults. The adults were seriously hurt and taken to Nice University Hospital (CHU). The child suffered minor injuries and was admitted to Lenval children’s hospital in Nice in a non-critical condition.
As of Wednesday, the condition of one adult improved, and he is no longer in a life-threatening situation. However, the woman’s condition remains unstable, according to reports from AFP.
The identities of the victims have not been confirmed by authorities, but local reports indicate that they are Vadym Yermolaiev, his partner, and their son. Yermolaiev, 58, is a real estate developer living in Monaco. He is a Cypriot citizen and previously held Ukrainian citizenship.
Yermolaiev has significant investments in the wine and alcohol industry in Crimea, which is annexed by Russia. He has been under sanctions from the Ukrainian government since 2023. In 2020, Forbes magazine listed him as the 39th richest Ukrainian, with an estimated fortune of $230 million.
