Breaking News: Ukraine Disrupts Russian Supply Routes
Kyiv has successfully used “middle-strike” drones to target locations up to 200 kilometers away from the front line. This strategy has intensified in recent months, focusing on logistical routes including a highway from Mariupol to Donetsk and key transport corridors in Luhansk.
As a result, a fuel crisis is affecting Russian-occupied areas in eastern Ukraine. Residents report severe water shortages, with supplies arriving only every three days. A Donetsk resident noted the high cost of petrol and the need to purchase drinking water.
Few cars are on the streets, but there has been no significant exodus from the area. Residents express concern for vulnerable groups, including the elderly and children, as rising prices and limited goods create dire conditions.
While Russian supply routes to Crimea remain operational, they are becoming increasingly risky. Analysts warn that Ukraine’s focus on targeting key bridges may present a greater long-term threat to Russian logistics.
In response, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak acknowledged the challenges but stated that the situation is under control. Moscow has halted petrol and jet fuel exports and is considering a total ban on diesel exports.
