Breaking News: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Sets Record for Fastest Half-Century

Teenage cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi achieved a remarkable 11-ball 50 for India A, setting the record for the fastest half-century in List A 50-over cricket. The 15-year-old accomplished this feat against Sri Lanka A, scoring 94 runs off 29 balls. His innings included 10 fours and eight sixes.

Sooryavanshi faced only one dot ball while reaching his fifty, hitting five fours and five sixes from the other 10 deliveries. The previous record for the fastest half-century was held by Thisara Perera, who scored in 13 balls in 2021. The fastest international half-centuries were scored by AB de Villiers and Matthew Forde in 16 balls.

Despite his impressive performance, Sooryavanshi was not included in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming series against England. However, he has been named in the T20 team for matches against Ireland and England, where he could make his international debut.

The first T20 match against Ireland is scheduled for June 26, followed by a five-match series against England starting on July 1. The ODI series will begin on July 14.
