Breaking: Polish PM Confirms Russian Missile Crashed in Eastern Poland, Leaving 10m Crater Near Tarnawa Kolonia

Breaking News: Russian Missile Crashes in Poland

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has reported that an object that crashed into a field in eastern Poland early Thursday is likely a Russian missile. The incident created a 10-meter-wide crater near Tarnawa Kolonia, approximately 92 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Tusk stated that initial assessments suggest the missile, which entered Polish airspace, is a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile. Military experts confirmed that recovered fragments support this identification. No casualties have been reported from the crash.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the situation is being taken seriously, although the missile did not land in a populated area. He noted, “We were prepared to shoot it down if it had continued its flight.”

NATO is in close contact with Polish authorities regarding the situation. Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz mentioned that around 20 objects were detected near Polish airspace overnight, and pyrotechnical analysis is underway.

Air raid sirens sounded in Lublin and Krasnystaw due to ongoing Russian attacks in Ukraine. Residents of Tarnawa Kolonia reported a loud bang around 4:00 AM. Polish military detected the object around 3:40 AM and dispatched an F-16 fighter jet for interception.
