Breaking News: Raheem Sterling Arrested for Drug-Driving
Raheem Sterling has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a car crash. The incident occurred on the M3 motorway in Hampshire on Thursday morning.
The former England winger, who recently played for Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivisie, reportedly crashed his Lamborghini into motorway barriers. No other vehicles were involved, and there were no reported injuries.
Hampshire Police stated that they received reports of the crash just before 9 AM. The 31-year-old driver from Berkshire has been arrested on multiple charges, including driving while unfit through drugs and failing to provide a specimen. He has been released on bail while investigations continue.
A source close to Sterling confirmed the arrest but claimed there is “no proof” of drugs in his system. The source also mentioned that Sterling has faced difficult times recently.
Sterling joined Feyenoord in February after leaving Chelsea. He made only eight appearances in the Netherlands. Before that, he had a challenging stint at Chelsea, making just 59 league appearances in four years.
