Breaking News: Missile and Drone Attack in Ukraine
Seven people, including two children, have died in a missile and drone attack on Ukraine, local officials report. The Ukrainian military confirmed multiple strikes occurred early Thursday morning.
President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned earlier this week that Russia was preparing for a “massive attack.” He urged citizens to heed air raid alerts.
In a village near Kryvyi Rih, a ballistic missile struck a private house, killing two girls aged 5 and 12. Eight others were injured, including two children, with officials indicating that the casualty count may rise.
In Kyiv, one person died, and fires broke out in three non-residential buildings. Mayor Vitali Klitschko provided updates via Telegram.
Explosions were also reported in Lviv, where Mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted damage to residential buildings. The situation remains ongoing as authorities assess the impact of the attacks.
