Breaking News: Myanmar’s Civil War Intensifies
Myanmar is experiencing a severe civil war, following a military coup five years ago that overthrew the elected government. Thousands have died, and millions have been displaced due to ongoing violence between the military and various rebel groups.
In recent years, rebels made significant gains. However, the situation has changed. The military has increased its use of forced conscription and drone strikes, regaining control in many areas.
Quentin Sommerville from the BBC recently reported from Myanmar without government permission, entering rebel-held territories. Over ten days, he interacted with rebel fighters and visited hospitals and front-line positions in Bago and Karen states to observe the conflict.
The fighting continues to escalate, affecting the lives of many civilians across the country.
