Breaking News: US Launches Strikes on Iran
The United States has initiated a new series of airstrikes against Iran. This action follows President Donald Trump’s warning to “hit them hard again tonight” after an exchange of attacks on Tuesday.
Explosions have been reported in southern Iran, specifically in the port cities of Sirik and Bandar Abbas, which are located on the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian state media confirmed multiple blasts, including eight explosions in Bandar Abbas and strikes on the ports of Sirik and Jask.
US Central Command stated that the strikes aim to “further degrade Tehran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation” in the region. The Pentagon claims these actions are in response to Iran’s recent attacks on commercial shipping.
Iranian officials have not yet responded but previously warned of an “immediate response” to US attacks. Reports indicate that air defense systems have been activated in Bandar Abbas.
The extent of the damage is still unclear. Iranian media mentioned power outages in Chabahar and a fire at an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps barracks in Bushehr. Some power lines have been restored.
President Trump remarked that Iran expressed interest in negotiating a deal, but he questioned their reliability.
