Breaking News: US Strikes on Iran Continue Amid Escalating Conflict; 50 Dead and Over 500 Injured in Recent Attacks

Breaking News: Escalation in US-Iran Conflict

Washington and Tehran’s preliminary deal to end hostilities has collapsed just weeks after it was signed in June.

Recent US strikes have resulted in at least 50 deaths and over 500 injuries, according to Iranian state media. The conflict, which began on February 28, has seen thousands killed across the Middle East.

This marks the seventh consecutive night of US airstrikes on Iran. In addition, the US has reimposed a blockade on Iranian ports. Iran has responded by targeting US allies in the Gulf, including Jordan, and declaring the Strait of Hormuz closed.

Both nations have been accused of attacking critical infrastructure. The US denies hitting civilian targets, asserting it focuses solely on military sites. However, BBC Verify confirmed an attack on a bridge in Hormozgan province.

The Gulf Cooperation Council has condemned Iran for allegedly striking civilian infrastructure. Kuwait reported damage to a power plant and a water distillation facility.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, criticized the US for its actions, stating that its agreements lack credibility. He has not appeared in public since the start of the conflict.
