Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure zero production stoppages due to machine breakdowns by optimizing repair and maintenance expenditures, enhancing machine reliability, and increasing technician and operator knowledge.
  • Guide engineering teams in electrical maintenance programs across sites, ensuring safe electrical installations.
  • Lead electrical safety audits, identify gaps, and develop corrective action plans, collaborating with engineering teams at various sites.
  • Oversee electrical efficiency, safety, lifecycle costs, and reliability for new capital projects.
  • Evaluate existing MV/LV electrical distribution, instrumentation, and automation systems, planning and budgeting for new investments while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
  • Implement measures to prevent electrical injuries and property damage.
  • Drive cost-effective initiatives to reduce factory conversion costs related to electrical demand and distribution losses.
  • Conduct skill gap analyses for electrical safety and facilitate training programs to enhance engineering knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with Unilever’s mandatory policies, including safety, health, environment, and quality.
  • Manage contractual services and maintenance activities in line with Unilever’s guidelines and local regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments for routine and non-routine work, promoting safer practices and equipment.
  • Review and advise on Management of Change (MOC) processes, maintaining up-to-date electrical system documentation.
  • Support site cybersecurity initiatives and implement digital strategies as recommended by the regional team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of MV and LV electrical installations, instrumentation, and automation practices.
  • Proficiency in reading P&ID, electrical drawings, and PFDs.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of WCM, TPM techniques, and professional maintenance practices.
  • Experience with PLC, SCADA programming (Siemens & Allen Bradley), and VFD/Servo system configuration; familiarity with robotics is a plus.
  • Understanding of process instrumentation, calibration, cybersecurity, IT/OT networks, and digital technologies.
  • Experience in electrical safety audits and risk assessments related to electrical systems.
