Crisis Response, Recovery and Development Department (CRRD)
The CRRD implements humanitarian relief, post-crisis recovery, and development programs through four specialized teams: Awards Management Unit, Emergency Unit, Program Delivery, and Technical Excellence. Our mission focuses on five key areas: safety, health, education, economic well-being, and empowering individuals to influence decisions affecting their lives. We prioritize addressing the unique needs of women and girls, who represent the majority of displaced persons.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Advisor to lead IRC’s engagement with the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida). This role involves managing donor relations and providing strategic guidance to enhance collaboration with Sida. The Senior Advisor will work closely with teams in Policy & Solutions and Advocacy & Influence.
Key Responsibilities

Donor Relationship Management: Oversee the relationship between IRC and Sida, coordinating the Sida Humanitarian Framework Agreement (HFA). This includes managing communications, facilitating meetings, and negotiating contracts.

Strategic Development: Develop and implement a multi-year Donor Engagement Strategy for Sida, ensuring a coordinated approach across departments.

Project Oversight: Monitor the project lifecycle, including donor engagement, business development, implementation, and reporting. Ensure compliance with donor requirements and high-quality delivery of reports and updates.

Collaboration: Work closely with various IRC teams, including Finance, Program Delivery, and regional colleagues, to promote effective partnerships and cross-departmental collaboration.

Capacity Building: Support learning initiatives among countries implementing HFA projects and develop internal guidance for managing HFA.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with Sida or the Swedish government.
- Strong background in advocacy, communications, and fundraising.
- Knowledge of programmatic and financial contractual arrangements with donors.
- Experience in developing countries, preferably with UK donors or NGOs.
- Fluency in Swedish is required; proficiency in English and additional languages (French or Spanish) is a plus.
- Legal right to work in Sweden.
