Job Overview:

The Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) team at our headquarters is seeking a Senior Strategy Advisor. This role will provide strategic and project-based support for key initiatives that advance RAI’s strategy, particularly focusing on Strategic Action Plans (SAPs) and the monitoring and renewal of commitments towards Strategy100 (S100), our new global strategy aimed at guiding the organization to its centenary in 2033.

This temporary part-time position (10-15 hours per week) reports to the RAI Senior Director of Strategy & Planning. The Senior Strategy Advisor will facilitate collaboration across departments at headquarters and within RAI program offices, working closely with senior staff to support critical decision-making and navigate complex discussions. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, a robust analytical mindset for quantitative analysis, a high level of personal initiative, and the capacity to thrive in a multicultural environment.

Major Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Performance

  • Support and maintain systems that facilitate RAI’s annual goal-setting, performance monitoring, and organizational learning, ensuring leadership has timely visibility into departmental progress and priorities.
  • Oversee the development of departmental objectives and key results, collaborating with senior stakeholders to translate RAI’s strategic direction into measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain the department’s approach to monitoring and reporting on annual goals, including the establishment of indicators and reporting mechanisms.

Annual Planning and Monitoring

  • Assist in the design and execution of monitoring and performance management systems, including indicators, reporting schedules, review forums, and processes that ensure high-quality reporting and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Independently conduct end-to-end quantitative modeling, including problem formulation, data analysis, model development, and validation to support data-driven decisions.
  • Lead funding gap analyses to identify resource constraints and provide recommendations for prioritization.

Ongoing Team Duties

  • Provide continuous support to the Strategy & Planning team on priority projects and daily operations, adapting to evolving needs and timelines.
  • Assist the team with key strategic projects in preparation for FY27, including organizing meetings, developing materials, producing quantitative analyses, and managing logistics.
  • Represent the Strategy & Planning team in cross-functional forums, ensuring RAI’s strategic priorities are effectively communicated.
  • Offer general strategy and administrative support for team projects and operations, including compiling internal resources and implementing process improvements.
  • Take on additional duties and learning opportunities as needed in response to changing internal projects and priorities.

Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, project management, or a related role within a complex global organization.
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities and cross-functional projects with minimal oversight.
  • Expertise in developing quantitative analyses and models to synthesize complex data, track performance against strategic targets, and support evidence-based decision-making.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to design, manage, and enhance organizational systems and processes, such as goal-setting frameworks and governance routines.
  • Proficiency in conducting quantitative analyses and building models to synthesize complex data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of producing compelling briefings and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for professional productivity, with a passion for promoting broader adoption.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, adept at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence effectively across cultures and seniority levels.

Working Environment:

  • Standard office working environment, with potential remote work options. Part-time remote employees may be required to share workspace.

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $50 – $60 per hour. Compensation is based on various factors, including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers will be determined based on work location and individual candidate experience relative to the defined job requirements.
