Job Title: Truck Driver
Job Synopsis:
We are seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, loading, driving, and unloading MCC tractors and trailers, as well as operating MCC forklifts when necessary. This position involves some long days and overnight driving, but also includes a regular schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM when working at the Material Resource Center. We prefer candidates who can commit to a 5-day workweek totaling 40 hours, but we are open to negotiating hours for the right candidate.
Qualifications
Essential:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- A minimum of 3 months to 1 year of CDL driving experience.
- An acceptable driving record, meeting MCC’s policy, insurance, and legal requirements for authorized drivers.
- Willingness to obtain Forklift certification if not already certified.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility and cultural sensitivity.
- Mechanical aptitude and logistics skills.
- Proficient in using cell phones and maintaining electronic truck logs.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. Employment offers are contingent upon a successful criminal background check.
Preferred:
- 2 or more years of CDL driving experience.
- Diesel mechanic certification or specialized training in diesel mechanics.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Truck Loading, Driving, and Unloading (75%)
- Collaborate with the Ephrata Material Resources Center (MRC) Warehouse Coordinator to load, drive, and unload trucks.
- Maintain the Motive elog system and documentation for semi-tractors.
- Load and unload shipments, and manage the delivery and collection of material resources and recycling items.
- Coordinate with freight haulers and volunteer drivers across multiple U.S. regions.
- Provide timely reports and documents to the Ephrata MRC Warehouse Manager and C&T Technical Coordinator.
- Offer basic training in CDL driving and documentation for volunteer CDL drivers.
- Participate in random drug and alcohol testing.

Forklift Operation and Material Resource Handling (20%)
- Operate forklifts at the Ephrata MRC and other MCC locations upon certification.
- Perform material resource handling tasks as required.

Tractor and Trailer Maintenance (5%)
- Work with the C&T Technical Coordinator to perform or arrange maintenance for the MCC trucking fleet.
- Coordinate major repairs, purchases, and improvements to the fleet.
- Report accidents or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Provide timely reports to the Ephrata MRC Warehouse Coordinator and C&T Technical Coordinator.
Travel Expectations:
This position requires extensive travel, including day trips and up to 5 overnight trips per week, totaling 30 to 40 nights away per year. Typical trips may involve travel from Ephrata to Newton, KS, and back, along with various one-day trips.
Salary Details:
The starting salary for this position is $25.63 per hour, with potential adjustments up to $28.48 based on prior experience.

Location:
The Material Resource Center is located at 517 West Trout Run Road, Ephrata, PA. Ephrata, with a population of approximately 13,000, is situated about ten miles from Lancaster City, which is more urban and ethnically diverse.
