Job Purpose
The Quality role at our site (Factory/Sourcing Unit) is crucial for implementing Unilever’s specifications, standards, and Quality Management System (QMS). This position ensures compliance with local regulatory requirements and drives quality improvement initiatives to guarantee consumer safety and product quality. The role also addresses consumer and customer concerns effectively.

Key Responsibilities
The scope of this role is influenced by various site factors, including the number of consumer units, packing lines, site headcount, and complexity factors such as technologies and SKUs. The designation of Technologist requires specialized technical skills or academic qualifications in areas such as microbiology, chemistry, or statistics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Quality Management System: Support the implementation of the Unilever QMS to ensure consumer safety and product quality.
  • Compliance Verification: Conduct internal quality audits to verify compliance with the QMS.
  • Self-Assessment: Assist in submitting timely and accurate Quality Verification program self-assessments.
  • Local Procedures: Help prepare local procedures and work instructions that align with Unilever standards.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to quality loss in support of operational KPIs.
  • Inter-Company Quality Agreement: Provide necessary site details for agreements with receiving MCOs.
  • Audits and Certifications: Assist in maintaining external audits and certifications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Document compliance with applicable regulatory and consumer safety requirements.
  • Traceability: Verify and document the traceability of materials and products, including mock recall exercises.
  • SAP QM Utilization: Use SAP QM and Unilever specifications for quality verification.
  • Incident Management: Support actions required to manage product incidents.
  • Non-Conforming Materials: Implement procedures to control non-conforming materials and products.
  • HACCP Plan: Verify ongoing compliance with the HACCP plan and prerequisite programs.
  • Quality Testing Program: Ensure compliance with a quality testing program throughout the production cycle.
  • Laboratory Practices: Ensure on-site Quality laboratories adhere to Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Calibration and Maintenance: Implement and verify calibration and maintenance programs for testing equipment.
  • Quality Data Management: Maintain a system for recording and preserving key quality data.
  • Quality Improvement Activities: Participate in structured quality improvement initiatives related to customer and consumer issues.
  • Supplier Performance Analysis: Analyze supplier performance data to enhance the quality of inbound materials.
  • Process Capability Studies: Conduct studies to align process capabilities with specification limits.
  • Innovation Trials: Support innovation trials relevant to site quality.

Additional Responsibilities for Technologist:

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of HACCP and hazard controls to mitigate consumer safety risks.
  • Apply expertise in factory hygiene and equipment cleaning to support HACCP and prerequisite programs.
  • Leverage knowledge of microbiology to support HACCP plans and ongoing verification.
  • Use advanced technical knowledge to support quality testing programs and process capability studies.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Mandatory)
  • 1-3 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Food Science, or Microbiology
  • Manufacturing experience
